Mark as read delay in Outlook

PrintE-mail
To change the mark as read options of your messages, you can do the following:
  1. From Outlook, choose Tools > Options.
  2. Select the Other tab from the dialog box.
  3. Select Reading Pane Options and choose from these options:
    • To mark items that you view as read, select the Mark item displayed in Reading Pane as read check box.
    • To set a delay for when the item is marked as read, type a number in the Wait [n] seconds before marking item as read text box. The default is five seconds.
    • To mark an item as read after you move away from it, pick Mark items you view in the Reading Pane as read after you select another item in the list.
    • To leave items you view in the Reading Pane marked as unread, select Do not automatically mark items as read.
  4. Pres Ok when done.

Mark as Read when you print the attachment

Can you mark an item as read when you "quick print" the attachment? I know it does when you open it or after a delay of seconds, but I want it to stay unread unless I print it or it's attachment. Please advise...

Thank you. That's exactly the info that I was looking for in outlook's "help" section where I've wasted a lot of time digging for it and still couldn't find it, until I searched out of it and came across your site.
