Unity
I've been using Linux for about 15years so I'm not averse to change. With Ubuntu 11.10 I've disabled Unity simply to get single-click workspace switching; thereby forgoing the opportunity to discover if Unity is useful. Mixing 'classic' features (menus, switchers, launchers) with Unity would, perhaps, lead to a cluttered screen but allowing users the choice via System Settings would encourage gradual adoption of (best of) the new features.
