Unity? You mean Divsion...
Well I held off trying this, thinking that if I waited long enough Ubuntu would realize it was the wrong voyage to set out on, and right course.
However, I thought I had to experience it to make sure. It's not as bad as I thought it would be...it's worse!
I don't see why they didn't use their dev cycles to fork gnome 2 and get irritations out of it, or fix gnome 3. Apparently, they figured everyone would end up using tablet PCs eventually, and figured they might as well force the loyal grassroots into being user interface guinea pigs to be ready for the tablet wave (if it comes to pass).
I didn't want to be one those knee jerk people, but I really can't take this design decision. I'm currently deciding on a new distro. I don't like having something forced on me even if it's worthwhile, and this definitely should have been an obscure ui offering for tablets only.
So long, but half way through the voyage of the good ship Ubuntu, she hit rough seas and poor piloting has steered her into reef, she's sinking, and I'm taking one of the last lifeboats because I'm unwilling to stay and sink with a ship of fools.
