Unity - disabling!

I really tried to like/get use to it, but bumping a window into the edge and having it maximize is simply irritating. And, if the window opens docked against the top bar, and you try to move it down, it automatically becomes full screen. Unity needs a lot of work before it's ready for prime time. I'm not ready to jettison Ubuntu, but I'm thinking about it!
